How to Watch Public Lectures on Playchess.com
Here's how to join my weekly public lectures on www.playchess.com.
- If you do not already have the playchess.com client, visit http://www.playchess.com download it, and install it.
- Start the playchess.com client and register a new account name if you do not have one. After you register, use it to login.
(Screenshot - click anywhere inside the browser window to exit the viewer.) - Once you have connected, you will see the main server windows on the first screen. In the Rooms window, click the Broadcasts to enter it. (Screenshot)
- In the Info tab on the left side of the screen (Screenshot), click the Games column once. There you will see a list with the games which are currently being broadcast. Look for my broadcast in this list (usually it starts with Monday's Lecture or Friday's Lecture and it has a little media play icon on the left). (Screenshot)
- To join, all you need is to double-click on the game. However, only premium members of the server can watch it for free (learn how to become a premium member). Kibitzers who are not premium members will need a serial number and 50 Ducats (equal to 5€) to listen the lecture. If you are interested in buying a serial number or Ducats, you can learn more here. ChessBase will make further announcements about premium memberships soon, but at the moment, premium members are those with an activated copy of Fritz 12.
